Orchestration Project: Brass

To continue our run of orchestration projects, we were assigned a piece that focussed on our use of brass. I didn’t manage to think of any ideas that used ONLY brass. I do like the challenge of producing something using only one section of the orchestra, but as I got going, I heard strings in my head and just went with it. Oh well! I think it’s a decent piece. Dave complimented the evolution over time and said that he was able to visualize a scene to it. Which is good! Woo! I wish personally that it had gone further and so on, but there was only so much time, and good music usually takes quite a bit of time. Anyway, I was very pleased that he said he was able to “feel the ride”. Which is something he’s been talking about for a while now. So yeah. Here, listen:

Look forward to hearing some other music soon! There are quite a few projects all coming up soon, so the blogbeasts should eat well in the coming weeks.
